OPERATION WELCOME HOME
Since March 2007, Operation Welcome Home (Maryland) greets Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guard service members returning from overseas. Volunteers help decorate the lobby with patriotic signs and banners. They also package “goodie bags” for the troops, many of whom are hungry, thirsty, and tired from their travels and will be waiting on a connecting flight. When the troops arrive through the doors of the International Arrival terminal, we shower them with praise, cheering them on, hugging them, offering them a “goodie bag,” and thanking them for their service.
We invite you to come on out to the International terminal at BWI and help us welcome them home!
Please consider volunteering in this event Tuesday.
Where? BWI Airport, International Terminal
When? approximately 1 -3 pm although it will depend upon flight times, delays, etc...
What to bring? Just your smiles and gratitude!; Future plans to bring snacks, drinks and thank you cards.
A member from the Humanitarian Committee will call the hotline prior to leaving for the airport and will contact you if the flight has been delayed or changed. The hotline number is: (410) 630-1555 if you prefer to check yourself.

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT BIZTOWN®
Fourth and fifth graders may not be old enough to drive, work, vote, or be the boss. But that doesn't stop them from operating a radio station, insurance company, distribution center, or restaurant; or from conducting bank business or voting for mayor. They do all this and more at JA BizTown, a 10,000 square foot "city," complete with its own micro-economy. In the classroom, teachers lead pre-visit lessons on budgeting, careers, and business operations.
Responsibilities: On JA BizTown visit day, one to two business volunteers are assigned to each JA BizTown shop and guide students as they put their classroom learning into practice by running and working in a JA BizTown business.
Typical time commitment is 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. BizTown welcomes individual volunteers, as well as corporate or parent teams.
Location: 10711 Red Run Blvd., Suite 110 Owings Mills, MD 21117
